Tequila Sunrise
This week’s instalment of Music Monday is Tequila Sunrise by Eagles from their 1973 album, Desperado. The Alan Jackson version is from his 1993 album, Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles.
Don Henley and Glenn Frey wrote the song in the first week of their partnership, naming it after a cocktail then popular in California bars. It was the first single from Desperado. Alan Jackson recorded his take for Common Thread, a Walden Woods Project fundraiser that went triple platinum.
