This week’s instalment of Music Monday is Wonderwall by Oasis from their 1995 album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?. The Ryan Adams version is from his 2003 EP, Love Is Hell Pt. 1.

Adams slowed the Britpop anthem to a bluesy, stripped-down crawl and turned it into a heartbroken ballad. Noel Gallagher admitted he only came to appreciate his own song after hearing Adams play it, and he later reworked his live arrangement around that version. The cover earned Adams a Grammy nomination for Best Solo Rock Vocal Performance.
