(There's) Always Something There to Remind Me
This week’s instalment of Music Monday is (There’s) Always Something There to Remind Me by Lou Johnson from 1964, a non-album single. The Naked Eyes version is from their 1983 album, Naked Eyes.
Burt Bacharach and Hal David wrote this for Dionne Warwick as a demo but Lou Johnson took it to the charts first in 1964. Sandie Shaw’s UK cover hit number one that same year but it took Naked Eyes’ synth-pop version, cut in one take at Abbey Road, to finally crack the US top ten almost two decades later.
