This week’s instalment of Music Monday is Zombie by The Cranberries from their 1994 album, No Need to Argue. The Miley Cyrus version is from her 2020 album, Plastic Hearts. Dolores O’Riordan wrote Zombie as a protest against the 1993 Warrington bombing, and it became one of the defining anthems of 90s rock. Miley Cyrus recorded her stripped down version live at the Whisky a Go Go for a 2020 venue relief fundraiser, earning praise from the Cranberries themselves as one of the finest covers of the song.
